What should I expect from the first appointment?

Arriving at our physical therapy clinic is like walking into any other medical office! Here’s what you can anticipate.

When you arrive at our office, you will register at the front desk. We’ll need your insurance information as well as any other paperwork you’ve brought with you (i.e., referral, X-ray or MRI report, and other medical reports)

When you first meet with a physical therapist, you will be asked about your child’s developmental milestones, such as sitting up, crawling, and walking, and the age at which they were accomplished. Your child’s therapist will be curious about your concerns or why you brought your child here.

Following these discussions, your therapist will perform a physical examination to identify developmental difficulties or delays. Your therapist may also observe your child as he or she engages in activities like toy play, standing, sitting, moving, and transitioning between activities.

Following your Movement Physiotherapy & Performance therapist’s assessment of your child, you will work together to develop a treatment plan for your child.

If you have any questions, please contact us at any time. We want to ensure that you are satisfied with your child’s plan, treatments, and progress.
