Is pediatric physical therapy painful?

Physical therapy is meant to help, not to harm.

Unfortunately, when treating some painful injuries and conditions, it is possible to experience some pain. Your child may experience temporary soreness or discomfort as a result of using weakened or restricted muscles or inflamed joints, depending on their condition.

Our therapists will always do their best to alleviate any discomfort that your child may feel. We will also inform and educate parents about what to expect from their treatment.

If you have any concerns about your child’s treatment, please contact their physical therapist. We’re here to help and answer any questions you might have.
